In a nutshell

Everyone has a story to tell. Mine is not exciting or glamorous. So why should you bother reading it? You should read it because perhaps you need to. Perhaps you are a person who feels like you fail as a parent. Maybe you struggle to get through the day with your sanity in tact. Or perhaps life is good, but there are days when you feel like pulling your hair out. If this sounds like you, then we have much in common.

My story as a parent begins 10 years ago. I gave birth to a beautiful daughter. I was engaged to be married and life was sweet. The week before my wedding, when my daughter was 4 months old, I found out that I was pregnant…again. The next year, another baby was born… then another… and another… and so on. I lived through a very long, laborious and taxing eight years of consecutive pregnancies. As fervently as I tried to get a break and space out my kids, it just did not happen.

I did not choose this path, it chose me. It is a role that I never thought I’d play, but here I am, a mother of seven, none the less! The job is a thankless, grueling series of repetitive disciplining, cleaning, feeding and nurturing. When I get paid with those tender little hugs and kisses, however, it does help to ease the pangs of motherhood and make it all worth while.

I am here because I have many stories to share about motherhood, finding balance in life and how Jo played a part in shaping the mother that I have become and continue to evolve into. I am not afraid to admit to being a parent who needed help. Heck, I still do! I was one of the fortunate few who got to learn from Jo, personally and I feel blessed for that. It is my desire to shed light on our experiences on Supernanny, how we carry on now and what led up to that fateful phone call to beg for Jo’s help.
