Mark Hibbitts is a leading pregnancy and postnatal exercise consultant and personal fitness coach. He co-founded his first gym in 1981 and was giving individual programmes to gym members long before the term 'personal trainer' became fashionable.
Mark turned his attention to Post Natal exercise after his wife Michelle gained three and a half stone (50lbs) during her first pregnancy and they realised just how little advice was available. With Mark's help, Michelle was back to her pre-pregnancy weight within a few months and the rest is history.
Mark is passionate about the many benefits of exercise both during and after pregnancy, but has heard many ‘horror stories’ from new mums given damaging exercise programmes by so called ‘experts’ and has made it his goal to put things right.
Mark founded Newborn Fitness in 2005 to provide a resource for mums and mums-to-be looking for professional advice and information on health, fitness and nutrition. Newborn Fitness also has a database of top fitness professionals fully qualified in pre and postnatal exercise instruction that's rapidly expanding to cover the UK.
Mark is a full member of the Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal exercise instructors, and is 'pregnancy matters' editor for Lifestyle Experts, a web based health, fitness and lifestyle company.
