Baby it's cold outside....
The Supernanny Team are always keen to help! We've been looking for some extra special items to keep your little ones warm this winter. So read on for some sizzling suggestions!
When it comes to chilly nights, nothing beats a baby sleeping bag. It will be sure to keep your little one warm and cosy, and unlike blankets, is also, of course, impossible to throw off.
Grobag – the winner of the Mother and Baby Gold award for Best Nursery Item for three years running - make fantastic sleeping bags. New designs are added each season, and each bag arrives with lots of information and useful advice to ensure they are used correctly (for example to make sure your baby isn’t wearing too many clothes while snuggled up!)
The sleeping bags (which include ones suitable for travel) come in a range of different togs (warmth ratings), meaning they can be used all year round, and in different sizes. Because of this, parents need not worry that their child is ensconced in something too big or small. With a grobag, the air can circulate and baby does not overheat, but it’s also small enough to ensure that he or she does not slip down inside.
The brilliant thing about grobags is that your baby can be put into one from when they’re tiny (around 7lbs or 10lbs depending on the design). They can then grow with their grobags, using them right up to pre-school. A grobag can easily be packed for holidays too – making staying away from home so much easier.
Grobags costs from £22.50 and can be ordered from the official supplier, Bump to 3.
The T Cosy:
Now this is a clever design – so clever, in fact, that we can’t believe it’s never been thought of before.
Most parents will recognise the situation – when you go out with your baby in winter, it starts off freezing cold, and so you wrap your little one up in a fleece to keep him warm. But as you get into the car, or the warmth of the shopping mall, your youngster warms up, and you begin to worry about overheating.
The T Cosy aims to solve that problem. This wrap is designed so that it can quickly be adjusted to suit the temperature. If it’s cold, you fasten the whole thing up, but as your child warms up, simply undo the Velcro at the waist and wrists, take off the hood and push the whole garment back. There’s no need to undo any straps or to take the baby out of the pushchair. What an answer to a mum’s prayers!
Even more appealingly, the whole garment has no fiddly poppers, buttons or even zips, and it’s British made, by a Lancashire firm.
The T Cosy is suitable for ages 0 to three years and costs £20 plus £2.95 postage and packing from Three Bags Full.
